The Forbes richest football clubs 2016 list is out. Real Madrid have remained the world’s most valuable football team for the fourth time in a row. According to US business magazine, Forbes, the Spanish giants take the lead ahead of Barcelona and Manchester United.

Real Madrid’s value stands at $3.645bn with an annual revenue of $694mn. Barcelona narrowly follows with a value of $3.459bn. Manchester pulls in third worth $3.317bn. A total of 6 Premier League teams feature on the top 10 most valuable teams: Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham.

Forbes further states that Real ranked second richest sports team behind the Dallas Cowboys American football team valued at $4bn.

3 Manchester United – $3.317bn

4 Bayern Munich – $2.678bn

5 Arsenal – $2.017bn

6 Manchester City – $1.921bn

8 Liverpool – $1.548bn

9 Juventus – $1.299bn

10 Tottenham – $1.017bn

Forbes said the top 20 teams are collectively worth 24 per cent more than the teams that filled those positions 12 months ago, citing increased income from television contracts and kit deals.
