The pop star took the title for most streamed track on Spotify in one week for What Do You Mean? and most streamed album on Spotify in one week for Purpose, he took the title for the first act to simultaneously hold three top positions on the UK singles chart for his singles Love Yourself, Sorry and What Do You Mean?, most simultaneous tracks on the US singles chart and most simultaneous new entries in the Hot 100 by a solo artist. Beiber has the most Twitter followes of any male user with 85,235,563, the most-viewed YouTube channel (individual) with 10,478,651,389 views and the most YouTube subscribers of any male musician with 20,711,202 subscribers.
The late David Bowie, who died in January, also took a spot in the Guinness World Records 2017 book for the first time in a decade as 19 of his albums hit the UK Top 100 with 10 in the UK Top 40.Ringo Starr made a record for the most expensive vinyl record sold at auction for US$790,000, mono copy of The Beatles (White Album), making it the most expensive vinyl ever auctioned.
Game of Thrones got a record for being the most pirated TV series, with about 14.4 million illegal downloads per episode. The HBO’s show also broke the record for TV shows with the most Emmy awards in one season, with 12 wins for season 5.
