Kanye West Still Plans To Run for President in 2020

Dear President-elect Donald Trump, if you’re already looking ahead to the 2020 election and a possible second term, do take notes, because a “Yeezy” White House could still be in the cards according to Kanye West.

“I sit in clubs and I’m like, Wow, I’ve got five years before I go and run for office and I’ve got a lot of research to do, I’ve got a lot of growing up to do,” Mr. West took the stage where he shared his own presidential aspirations in the wake of this year’s election cycle.

Donald Trump has actually responded to West’s concluding claim that he would run for president in 2020, he told Rolling Stone that he watched Kanye West give his epic speech at the Sunday’s VMA.

“I said, ‘That’s very interesting,’” Trump said. “I wonder who gave him that idea. Trump continued, “He’s actually a different kind of person than people think, he’s a nice guy. I hope to run against him someday.”

West had already announced his plan to run for president in 2020, and recently posted a picture of himself as president. If Donald Trump could win- both have big egos and are not afraid to show it, both have filed for bankruptcy in the past, and both have been known to stir up drama on Twitter- it’s a fat chance but who knows. In 2015 Trump said about the rapper, “He goes around saying ‘Trump is my all-time hero.’ He says it to everybody. So, Kanye West, I love him.

The outspoken rapper has recently gotten a lot of media attention after his infamous rants revealing his (late) support for Donald Trump. Kanye West told the audience at his concert that he would have voted Donald Trump if he had voted stating, “I told you all I didn’t vote right? … But if I were to have voted, I would have voted for Trump. This about the idea of a black guy liking Trump. They thought they had me because… just because I was black or just because I was a celebrity. But Trump is our president. And that would’ve been my vote, so I feel right.”

The singer also told the crowd that he’s been a Trump supporter for a while (unlike many of the celebrities) but family friend and major Clinton supporter Scooter Braun (manager to Ariana Grande & Justin Bieber) advised him not to talk about his Trump support before the election. He was instantly hit with a sea of boos, a spattering of applause, and an actual object from the crowd after the announcement; many concertgoers reportedly left. Soon after West’s declaration, fans took to Twitter to voice their frustration with the singer’s surprising political position.

Some people can at least respect the man’s ability to formulate his own opinion and not fall victim to the black lives mind and group-think; Kanye West mentioned that black people should stop focusing on race. While acknowledging that racism exists and the world is racist, he says blacks shouldn’t focus on it so much. Which, of course, is a 100% correct statement. Black people in the United States focus too much on racism and not actually developing business and community to a respectable and sustainable level. Kanye West Still Plans To Run for President in 2020
