Police have been forced to use tear-gas to disperse warring factions over market space allocation in Kitengela town.

It is alleged that members of the Maasai community members are demanding to get half of the market space being allocated by the county government, with the other communities who are viewed as “outsiders” sharing the remaining half.

At the moment, banks and other businesses are reportedly closed and riot police have since been deployed to calm the situation and have had to use tear-gas to disperse the rioting crowd.
