It’s hard to believe that Michael Jackson’s son Blanket- whom the singer notoriously dangled over the balcony of a hotel- is already 13-years old! The star famously appeared to dangle his baby boy over a balcony, later explaining it was a “terrible mistake”
Michael Jackson had sparked outrage when he appeared to dangle his baby son Blanket over his hotel balcony in front of photographers in 2002.
“I offer no excuses for what happened,” he said in a statement. “I got caught up in the excitement of the moment. I would never intentionally endanger the lives of my children.”
A shocking 13 years after THAT incident, when he hit headlines with a snap of him dangling over a balcony in his father’s arms at just nine-months-old, Blanket is a teenager. The star’s son is all grown up – and thanks to his recent yearbook photo, we have got a glimpse of what he looks like now.
With long dark hair, and smiling happily in front of the camera, he bares some resemblance to his father.
Now the star has shunned his real name Prince Michael II, AND his nickname Blanket, for Bigi Jackson.
Bigi was reportedly home-schooled until last year, and is now in the seventh grade in the Sherman Oaks, California school – the same school Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian attended.
“Michael would be proud of Blanket. He is really sweet, funny and helpful. He volunteers to help the younger kids and he is really good with them.” A source told Online Rader. “He probably got that from his dad.”
And compared to his siblings, Bigi is apparently “quiet”.
Bigi is under the co-conservatorship of his grandmother Katherine and his cousin TJ, and has been ever since Michael’s death in 2009.
His father always claimed Bigi was born from a surrogate mother.
