Kenya’s Harambee Stars extended their Unbeaten run to 8 matches after beating Liberia 1 – 0

Paul Were scored a superb goal at the Kasarani Stadium as Harambee Stars extended their unbeaten run to eight matches.

Kenya coach Stanley Okumbi made four changes from the squad which played against Mozambique by going for a three-pronged attack with Michael Olunga in front.

Stars started on a high note launching attacks minute after minute but their efforts never bore any fruits into the breather. In the 14th minute, Ayub Timbe picked the ball from the centre beating defenders bit his shot missed the target.

The visitors struggled to impose themselves even after half an hour as Harambee stars became a more compact unit and almost scored in the 40th minute when a corner from Paul Were was blasted wide by Michael Olunga. That was just a minute after the Lone Stars were denied an open penalty.

Paul Were grabbed a lone goal for Harambee Stars at the 55th minute. Despite the visitor’s offside claim.

The hosts looked more intent on not allowing the match to become as open as the first half and Liberia struggled to find the space to catch Kenya on the break.
